The central focus of our lab is to examine molecular mechanisms involved in the trafficking and selective targeting of newly synthesized endocrine secretory proteins. Specifically, we are interested in understanding the biology of secretory pathway defects that lead to diabetes and hypothyroidism, respectively, using cell culture and animal models.
