Michigan Athletics at Weidenbach Hall raised their certification level from silver to the highest level, platinum. They added composting in the staff kitchen and have held employee events as Zero Waste events. In addition, the department asks caterers for local or otherwise sustainable foods to help U-M meet the sustainable food goal. They encourage walking and will have bicycles available for staff to use. The department has a storage room of furniture to reuse rather than buying new. They use side saddle desk-side trash bins to encourage recycling and don’t use lights when not needed.
