In these labs we teach physical and analytical methods to undergraduate students using a variety of instrumentation and equipment. Our labs have GC, GC-MS, ICP-MS, NMR, HPLC, UV/Vis, FTIR, etc. We also use a large variety of specialized glassware and specialized electrochemical probes. Some of our sustainability initiatives include ensure all of our instruments off or unplugged when not in use, properly maintaining all equipment to maintain energy efficiency, and working with faculty and instructors to ensure that consumable and chemical use is in accord with pedagogical needs (minimize waste without sacrificing learning goals). {Originally certified gold: April 11, 2013}
