Maizie’s in Michigan League has advanced to platinum level certification. The team is composting pre-consumer food scraps and have public composting bins in the cafe. Having public composting means more education from staff to customers. The team have also been recycling the bulk coffee bags. Retail cafes have many student staff. Management provided incentives for student staff to take the Planet Blue training resulting in over 50% certification in the program.
