Originally certified in 2017, Michigan Institute for Clinical and Health Research (MICHR) has completed re-certification as a platinum office. The team routinely holds zero waste events and brought in their own utensils, dishware and cloth towels instead of using disposable items. The number of magazines and catalogs has been reduced to one, which all staff can access at their Collaboration Station. The team has reduced paper with MBox, electronic faxing, and electronic meeting agendas and minutes. The copier defaults to black and white. The team composts all of the coffee grounds. Over 50% of the staff are Planet Blue Ambassadors. Staff ride share and post bus schedules to make it easier to catch the shuttles. The green team meets monthly to create and support new sustainable initiatives for the department.
