Our work focuses on infectious disease epidemiology and global health, particularly the epidemiologic features and transmission of influenza and dengue fever in Nicaragua and Covid-19 in the community. In our lab we perform HAI on serum samples (Influenza hemagglutination inhibition assay), ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay), and PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) using water baths, centrifuges, plate readers, pipettes and assay chemicals.
